Tire Sales Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer-Centric Approach: Greet and assist service customers with a friendly and courteous demeanor, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the entire tire-related service process.
  • Expertise in Tire Services: Maintain certification in major tire brands, TPMS, vehicle alignment, and tire balancing. Be the go-to tire person for the dealership.
  • Knowledgeable Professional: Stay informed about manufacturer tire rebates, GM offers, and Tire Price Match Guarantee programs. Manage tire inventory efficiently.
  • Operational Excellence: Create repair orders, estimates, and invoices. Inspect repairs for proper completion and maintain a tire installation schedule.
  • Quality Assurance: Review MPVI reports, track and report necessary information to the Service Manager, and record all tire DOT numbers as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Two to four years of related experience and/or training in tire sales and services.
  • Certifications: Certified in TPMS, vehicle alignment, and tire balancing.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, speak effectively with customers and employees, and perform basic mathematical operations.
  • License: Valid Driver's License.

SUMMARY

The Tire Sales Specialist sells tires and tire related services to customers and helps the Service Manager with the total tire operations of the Quick Lube department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.
  • Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty and genuine concern for the customers.
  • Promptly meet and greet Service customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Completes and maintains Certification by all major tire brands.
  • Certified in TPMS., Certified in vehicle alignment, Certified in vehicle tire balancing.
  • Understands and able to execute all warranty claims by manufacturer.
  • The “go to” tire person for the dealership.
  • Is aware of and understands all manufacturer tire rebates, GM offers and Tire Price Match Guarantee programs.
  • Is knowledgeable of tire inventory, knows how to order and stock tires in tire inventory.
  • Create properly prepared repair orders, estimates and invoices.
  • Inspect repairs and maintenance jobs for proper completion.
  • Maintain a tire installation schedule in CDK service appointment calendar (SAC)
  • Review the MPVI report for completion and quality.
  • Track and report to the Service Manager information that is required.
  • Records and documents all tire DOT numbers as required by management.
  • Performs daily tire walks of Service and Used car lots.
  • Strive to increase tire sales and production.
  • Provides a complete and accurate written estimate for parts and labor.
  • Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with an estimate.
  • Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.
  • Explains completed work and all charges to customers. Reviews MPVI with customer.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
  • Keeps work area clean.

MARGINAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Advise the Service Manager of any situation that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the Dealership, its employees or customers.

Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.

Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
